Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for the following:

• increasing relaxation

• decreasing fatigue

• increasing the level of oxygen in the blood

• decreasing muscle toxins

Trigger Point Therapy

A trigger point is a tight area within muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body. For example, a trigger point in the back may reduce referral pain in the neck. The neck, now referring trigger points, may then cause pain in the head. The pain may be sharp and intense or a dull ache. Trigger point massage therapy is specifically designed to alleviate the source of the pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release.

In this treatment, the recipient actively participates through deep breathing as well as identifying the exact location and intensity of the discomfort.

Do you experience pain and tightness in the upper back, shoulders, and neck?

Often these symptoms are caused by the pectoral muscles. When these muscles get tight they pull the other muscles forward and cause pain, tightness, and that pesky burning feeling in your shoulders and neck. This can be helped by massaging the back, shoulders, neck and by working and releasing the pectoral muscle. The pectoral muscle is located near the client’s clavicle or collarbone.

Therapeutic Treatments

Therapeutic Massage is a mix of several different modalities to fit each client’s needs. These are some of the conditions that Therapeutic massage can relieve:

• Rotator Cuff
• Sciatica
• Carpal Tunnel Release
• Frozen Shoulder
• Lower Back Pain
• Neck Pain or limited range of motion

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sciatica Nerve

Do you experience numbness and pain in your back and lower extremities? Therapeutic Massage is great for those that experience the following:

Sciatica is caused by a pinched nerve which inflames underlining muscles. In order to treat this condition your therapist may use therapeutic or trigger point massage, and stretches.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a therapeutic method of relieving pain by stimulating predefined pressure points on the feet and hands. This controlled pressure alleviates the source of the discomfort. In the absence of any particular malady or abnormality, reflexology may be as effective for promoting good health and for
preventing illness, as it may be for relieving symptoms of stress.

Craniosacral Therapy (also known as craniosacral therapy)

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive form of bodywork that addresses the bones of the head, spinal column, and sacrum. The goal is to release compression in those areas which alleviates stress and pain.

Dr John Upledger, founder of craniosacral therapy, studied at Michigan State University from 1975 to 1983. It was here that he worked as the Professor of Biomechanics and as a clinical researcher. As stated on Dr Upledger’s website, www.upledger.com, “By complementing the body’s natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.”

Craniosacral therapy has proven to be extremely beneficial for problems such as:

• headaches
• migraines
• back aches
• neck aches
• stress
• anxiety disorders
• learning disorders

Craniosacral Therapy has the ability to get to the core of what is causing problems and help relieve the pain and dysfunction people are experiencing.

Please communicate with your therapist if you have any questions.
